On Friday 28 May 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) as Patron and guest of Ms Kate Gunn, Chief Operating Officer, visited the Children’s Medical Research Institute and presented a Governor-General’s Medallion to Ms Jennifer Philps.
Afterwards, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted a morning tea and tour of Admiralty House for The Women’s Pioneer Society.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted an event at Admiralty House in recognition of National Reconciliation Week. Guests included Ms Yvonne Weldon, Chair, Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council; Cr Jilly Gibson, Mayor, North Sydney Council; Mr Shane Philips and members of Tribal Warrior; Mr Isiah Dawe and members of ID. Know Yourself; Mr Scott Saddler AM and Ms Carla Knight.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted an afternoon tea to launch ‘Just One Bee’.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with the 2nd Adelaide Scouts via video conference.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of the Archbishop of Sydney, attended a Service of Consecration and Inauguration for Archbishop-Elect Kanishka Raffel at St Andrew’s Cathedral.
