On Saturday 19 June 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Government House, Australian Capital Territory, to Cooktown, Queensland.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Peter Scott, Mayor, Cook Shire Council, attended the Cooktown Cantana.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Scott, met with staff and volunteers at the Reconciliation Rocks, and the Waalmbal Birri Culture and Heritage Society at Grassy Hill.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Scott, attended the Cooktown Endeavour Ball.
