On Friday 2 July 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received a phone call from Councillor Damien Ryan, Mayor, Alice Springs Town Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK AFC (Retd), Chair, Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Later, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a virtual Ministerial swearing-in ceremony at which the Governor-General issued Oaths and Affirmations of Office to the newly appointed Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries, including the Honourable David Littleproud MP, Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia; Senator the Honourable Bridget McKenzie, Minister for Emergency Management and National Recovery and Resilience and Minster for Regionalisation, Regional Communications and Regional Education; the Honourable Andrew Gee MP, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister for Defence Personnel; the Honourable Keith Pitt MP, Minister for Resources and Water; the Honourable Dr David Gillespie MP, Minister for Regional Health; the Honourable Michelle Landry MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Families and Social Services; and the Honourable Kevin Hogan MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Honourable Scott Morrison MP, Prime Minister of Australia.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received a phone call from Mr Sydney Kinsman, World War II Veteran and Rat of Tobruk, on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
