On Friday 8 October 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley recorded a video message for One Door Mental Health.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Print Radio Tasmania and pre-recorded a reading via video conference.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Robyn Nolan, President, and Ms Chiou See Anderson, President-elect, National Council of Women, via video conference.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with members of the Tinalley Quartet, including Mr Adam Chalabi, Ms Lerida Delbridge and Mr Justin Williams, via video conference.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley conducted a virtual swearing-in ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Instruments of Appointment and Oaths of Office to newly appointed Ministers, including The Honourable Angus Taylor MP, The Honourable Melissa Price MP and The Honourable Ben Morton MP, and Parliamentary Secretary, Mr Tim Wilson MP, at Government House.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Helene Bender OAM, Chair, and members of the Order of Australia Association (Victoria Branch), via video conference.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with representatives of Scouts Australia including Mr Phil Harrison, Chief Commissioner, Ezgi Bridger, Deputy Chief Commissioner and Elanor Hewitt, Chair, National Rover Council, via video conference.
