On Wednesday 13 October 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Mauricio Carvalho Lyrio as the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, via video conference.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Timothy Mawe as the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland, via video conference.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Dr Margers Krams as the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia, via video conference.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as Patron, met with members of the Voice, Interests and Education of Women (VIEW) Clubs of South Australia, via video conference.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Professor Brett Sutton, Victorian Chief Health Officer, via video conference.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with members of the NSW Rural Fire Service (Greater Sydney Command), via video conference.
Later, the Governor-General received a phone call from the Honourable Gary Gray AO, Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland.
