Canberra, Australian Capital Territory; Walgett, Sydney, New South Wales.

On Wednesday 15 December 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Walgett, New South Wales.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Dominic Teakle, Chief Executive Officer, attended the official opening of the Walgett Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) and a barbeque lunch with community representatives.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Christine Corby OAM, Chief Executive Officer, met with staff of the Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Walgett, New South Wales to Sydney, New South Wales.

Then, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief, and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Matt Carroll AM, Chief Executive Officer, attended a Celebration of the 2020 Australian Olympic Team at the Star Event Centre.

Earlier, the Governor-General was represented by Commander Michael Nipperess HADC RAN at the State Memorial Service for Mr Eddie Jaku OAM, at Sydney Town Hall; and by Mr Paul Singer MVO for the international departure of His Excellency Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea, and Mrs Kim Jung-sook, at Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport.
