On Thursday 16 December 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales; to Merimbula, New South Wales.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a National Emergency Medal presentation for members of the NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Volunteer Rescue Association at the Eden RSL Hall.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with small business owners and community representatives in Eden, New South Wales.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Marcus Arvidson, Chief Executive Officer, Twofold Aboriginal Corporation, visited Jiggamy Farm.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a National Emergency Medal presentation for members of the NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Police and NSW State Emergency Service at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre.
