On Friday 17 December 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley attended a National Emergency Medal presentation for members of the NSW Rural Fire Service at the Bermagui Country Club.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Danielle Murphy, Co-Coordinator, Cobargo Recovery Association, met with local residents, visited small business owners and inspected the progress of infrastructure recovery in Cobargo, New South Wales.
Later, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Mrs Hurley hosted an investiture ceremony for Mrs May Blacka OAM at the Cobargo Bushfire Relief Centre.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a National Emergency Medal presentation for members of the NSW Rural Fire Service at Club Narooma.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Chad Staples, Director, visited and inspected flood damage at Mogo Wildlife Park and met with business owners impacted by recent flooding in Mogo, New South Wales.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Mogo, New South Wales; to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
