On Monday 24 January 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d) and Mrs Linda Hurley received Mr Bill Costello, Ambassador-Designate of Timor-Leste, and Mrs Diana Omonei.

Afterwards, the Governor-General recorded a video message for the National Prisoner of War Memorial Service.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a reception for state and territory finalists of the 2022 Australian of the Year Awards.
