On Saturday 29 January 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Justin McGowan, Australian Commissioner-General, visited Expo 2020 Dubai.

On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a Flag Raising Ceremony for Australia National Day and met with staff of the Australian Pavilion..

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a lunch with Expo partners and representatives of the Australian community in the United Arab Emirates.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with staff and visitors at Aussie Park at the Sports, Fitness and Wellbeing precinct.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended an official ceremony for Australia National Day, and visited the Australian and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Pavilions.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended the UAE 50-Years Exhibition and signed the official Visitors’ Book.

In the evening; the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a light show and musical performance at Al Wasl Dome.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended a meeting with His Highness Sheik Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, United Arab Emirates.

Later, Mrs Hurley, as guest of Ms Trudy McGowan, Senior Administrative Officer, Consulate-General Dubai, visited the Women’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a cocktail reception with partners of Expo 2020 Dubai and representatives of the Australian community in the United Arab Emirates.
