On Sunday 13 February 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Helen Fischer, President, SA Women’s Memorial Playing Fields Trust, attended the Bangka Day Service and inauguration of the new Women’s Memorial at the SA Women’s Memorial Playing Fields in St Marys.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Adelaide, South Australia, to Kangaroo Island, South Australia.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Ian Smith AM, Deputy Chair, Princes Trust Australia, participated in a turning of the sod ceremony for the Stokes Bay Community Hall.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Sam and Mrs Dana Mitchell, Co-Owners, visited and met with staff at Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a National Emergency Medal presentation for members of the SA Country Fire Service and SA State Emergency Service at Kingscote Primary School.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Kangaroo Island, South Australia, to Adelaide, South Australia.
