On Monday 7 March 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Brisbane, Queensland, to Gympie, Queensland.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Glenn Hartwig, Mayor, Gympie Regional Council, met with Council staff involved in disaster management and flood recovery, and visited flood affected areas.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Glenn Hartwig, attended a thank you lunch for community representatives involved in flood response and relief efforts.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Clare Stewart, Mayor, Noosa Shire Council, met with disaster management personnel and received a briefing on recent flooding.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Clare Stewart, attended an afternoon tea with community members and representatives of emergency services involved in flood response and relief efforts.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Pam Murphy, Resident, Peregian Beach.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
