On Monday 14 March 2022, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as Patron of the Royal Commonwealth Society of the ACT, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted a morning tea in recognition of Commonwealth Day.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, unveiled emu and kangaroo sculptures produced by Mr Adam Humphreys and participants of BackTrack Youth Works.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley unveiled the design of a new commemorative garden at Government House honouring Her Majesty The Queen.
