On Friday 1 April 2022, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Dr Víctor Arturo Cabrera Hidalgo as the Ambassador of the Republic of the Republic of Ecuador. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Tetyana Fadina, Spouse, Ms Manuela Rosalia Fernandez De Cordova, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador, and Ms Maria Alexandra Reyes, Administrative Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Rade Stefanović as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Natalija Stefanović, Spouse, Ms Ivana Isidorović, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Petar Špadijer, Consul, Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, and Mr Željko Djaković, Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Serbia.

Later, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Sinchai Manivanh as the Ambassador of The Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Sirivanh Manivanh, Spouse, Mr Kanya Khammoungkhoun, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mr Vinaysinh Keokhampho, Second Secretary, Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and Mr Khathaphone Somvorachit, Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

Then, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Jetmira Bërdynaj Shala as the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Zana Mehmetaj, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Archbishop Most Reverend Charles Daniel Balvo as the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See. The Apostolic Nuncio was accompanied by Monsignor John Baptist Itaruma, Cousellor, Apostolic Nunciature, and Monsignor Giuseppe Quirighetti, First Secretary, Apostolic Nunciature.

Later, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko as the Ambassador of Ukraine. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Liana Myroshnychenko, Spouse, Mr Volodymyr Shalkivskyi, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Ukraine, and Ms Liudmyla Andriienko, First Secretary, Embassy of Ukraine.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a lunch for newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included:

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr John Bale, Managing Director and Co-Founder, attended Fortem Australia's Inaugural Gala Ball.
