On Thursday 2 June 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley arrived in London, United Kingdom.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Major General Christopher Ghika CBE, Major General Commanding the Household Division, attended the Trooping the Colour Ceremony, the Household Division’s Celebration of the Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Major Niall Hall MVO, Regimental Adjutant, attended at a lunchtime reception with the Irish Guards.
Then, the Governor-General as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Mrs Hurley hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Major General Matthew Hall AO at Australia House, London.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Lynette Wood, Acting High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, attended an afternoon tea with members of the Australian Defence Force participating in The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
