Ballina and Mullumbimby, New South Wales
On Tuesday 21 June 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Amanda Falvey, a/g Principal, met with staff and students at Xavier Catholic College Ballina involved in flood response and relief efforts.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Mark Arnold, General Manager, met with members of the Byron Shire Recovery Committee.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Leseera Kai, Centre Co-ordinator, met with staff, volunteers and clients at the Mullumbimby District Neighbourhood Centre.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Janelle Stanford, President, Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce, attended a working lunch with community members involved in emergency response and relief efforts following flooding in Wilsons Creek. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Janelle Stanford, President, Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce, met with local business owners in Mullumbimby.
