On Friday 22 July 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Windsor, New South Wales.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received a briefing on flood recovery from representatives of Hawkesbury City Council including Councillor Patrick Conolly, Mayor; Councillor Barry Calvert, Deputy Mayor; and Ms Elizabeth Richardson, General Manager,
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Joanne Williams, Community Recovery Support Worker, Hawkesbury City Council, visited and met with staff, volunteers and clients involved in ongoing flood recovery and relief efforts at the South Windsor Family Centre.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Andrew North, local resident, met with South Windsor residents impacted by flooding.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Sam Attard, primary producer, visited and met with farmers and vegetable growers impacted by flooding.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Windsor, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a farewell dinner for retiring Australian Defence Force Service Chiefs.
