On Monday 25 July 2022, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Samali Dorothy Hyuha as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Patrick Guma Muganda, Deputy Head of Mission, High Commission of Uganda, Mr Joshua Jenner Mulondo, Minister Counsellor, High Commission of Uganda and Mr Daniel Mulekezi, Second Secretary, High Commission of Uganda.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Kailash Raj Pokharel as the Ambassador of Nepal. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Basudha Pokharel, spouse, Mr Kul Bahadur Magar, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Nepal.

Later, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Caroline Kennedy as the Ambassador of the United States of America. The Ambassador was accompanied Dr Edwin Schlossberg, spouse, Mr Michael Goldman, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the United States of America, Ms Bibi Voyles, Political Counsellor, Embassy of the United States of America, Ms Bonnie Angelov, Executive Assistant, Embassy of the United States of America.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a lunch for newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included: Ms Jan Adams AO PSM, Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Her Excellency Ms Samali Dorothy Hyuha, High Commissioner of Uganda; Mr Justin Hayhurst, representing the Foreign Minister, Deputy Secretary, Geostrategic Group, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Her Excellency Ms Caroline Kennedy, Ambassador of the United States of America, and Dr Edwin Schlossberg, spouse; His Excellency Dr Ali Kraishan, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Mrs Lubna Kraishan, spouse; Mr Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr Patrick Guma Muganda, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Republic of Uganda; His Excellency Kailash Raj Pokharel, Ambassador of Nepal and Ms Basudha Pokharel, spouse; Mr Paul Singer MVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a phone call from His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson APM, Governor of Western Australia.
