On Tuesday 6 September 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Brisbane, Queensland.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Reviewing Officer, and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Major General Scott Winter AM, Commander, 1st Division / Deployable Joint Force Headquarters, attended the 1st Signal Regiment Honours Parade and Reception.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Fiona Jackson, Volunteer, met with members of the ‘Sing Sing Sing’ Choir.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Brisbane, Queensland, to Melbourne, Victoria.
In evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended the state memorial service for the late Judith Durham AO.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Melbourne, Victoria, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, for the arrival to Australia of His Excellency Dr José Ramos-Horta, President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.
