On Monday 10 October 2022, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Dr Elias Munshya as the High Commissioner for Zambia. The High Commissioner was accompanied by representatives of the High Commission of the Republic of Zambia, including Ms Annah Lupenga, Deputy High Commissioner; Ms Mirriam Manda, First Secretary and Mr Charles Mucholo, First Secretary (Press).
Later, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Bassam Alqabandi as the Ambassador of Kuwait. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Maha Alfalah, spouse; and representatives of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, including Mr Thamer Alkhurainej, First Secretary, Mr Abdullah Al-Bassam, Attaché; and Mr Hashem Abdal, Attaché.
Then, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Anne Grete Riise as the Ambassador of Norway. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Morten Aulund, First Secretary; and Mrs Mona Nygaard, First Secretary.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Antonis Sammoutis as the High Commissioner for Cyprus. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Elena Makhanokova, spouse; and Mr Stavros Nikolaou, Deputy High Commissioner.
Later, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Pontus Melander as the Ambassador of Sweden. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Ulrika Gustafsson, Second Secretary.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Professor Iain Martin, Vice-Chancellor; and Mr David Reeves, Senior Advisor, Deakin University.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recorded video messages for Global Empowering Women Organisation
Later, the Governor-General recorded video messages for Glaucoma Australia, SAS Resources Trust, and Surf Life Saving Australia.
Then, the Governor-General and The Honourable Doctor Jim Chalmers MP, Treasurer, met with students of Wyee Public School, Wyee, New South Wales.
Later, the Governor-General received a phone call from Councillor Mathew Dickerson, Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council.
