On Thursday 20 October 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Hobart, Tasmania.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guest of Mr David Thomas, President, Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the 201st Royal Hobart Show.

Later, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Thomas, attended the Beef Cattle exhibit and Junior Judging Competition.

Then, Mrs Hurley as guest of the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, attended the Creative Crafts and Arts Exhibitions.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as the Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Mrs Hurley, hosted an investiture ceremony for Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended an Order of St John investiture ceremony for Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a ceremony at Government House Tasmania at which Captain Roger Lambert was presented with the Federation Star.
