Canberra, Australian Capital Territory; Campaspe Shire, Victoria

On Wednesday 2 November 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Elmore, Victoria.

On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley as guests of Councillor Chrissy Weller, Mayor, Campaspe Shire Council, received a briefing on the progress of recovery efforts following flooding across the Campaspe Shire, and met with community members at the Elmore Event Centre.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Rochester, where as guests of Councillor Chrissy Weller, they met with representatives of recovery agencies at the Rochester Relief Centre.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a lunch with flood affected residents and representatives of recovery agencies at the Campaspe Shire Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Chrissy Weller, met with residents impacted by recent floods, and volunteers from relief and assistance agencies, at the Echuca Relief Centre.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Echuca, Victoria, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a dinner for the Official Secretary to the Governor-General of New Zealand and Official Secretaries to State Governors.
