On Monday 20 March 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as guest of Mr Shane Phillips, Chief Executive Officer, attended a Tribal Warrior boxing session at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.

Then, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley as joint Patrons, received senior members of the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) including Ms Leesa Waters, Chief Executive Officer; Ms Rani Kumar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer; and Professor Ben Matthews (via videoconference), Lead Investigator of the Australian Child Maltreatment Study.

Afterwards the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received senior members of the Australian War Widows New South Wales including Ms Renee Wilson, Chief Executive Officer; Ms Tricia Hobson, Board Chair, Ms Jennifer Collins, Director; and Ms Queen Dunbar, State President.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a dinner for the NELUNE Foundation.
