On Wednesday 26 April 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) as Prior of the Order of St John, hosted a ceremony at which Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley and other recipients were invested as Knights of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recorded video messages for the Gallipoli Scholarship Foundation, Gidget Foundation Australia and National Volunteer Week.

Then, the Governor-General recorded video messages for the Fire Protection Association of Australia, and The Salvation Army.

Later, the Governor-General received Mr Ian Biggs, Head of Mission-designate, Austria.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as Patron, hosted a twilight concert ahead of the 2023 Canberra International Music Festival.
