On Friday 5 May 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of The Right Honourable James Cleverly MP, Secretary of State of Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, attended a breakfast for leaders of the Realm and representatives of Small Island Developing States (SIDS), G20 and developing country partners, and other international organisations.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of His Majesty King Charles III, attended a luncheon for Realm Governors-General and Prime Ministers, at Buckingham Palace.

Then, the Governor-General conducted an interview with the ABC.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort, attended a reception for overseas representatives, at Buckingham Palace. 

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a trilateral dinner with Her Excellency The Right Honourable Mary Simon CC CMM COM OQ CD, Governor-General of Canada, and Her Excellency Dame Cindy Kiro GNZM QSO, Governor-General of New Zealand.
