On Thursday 15 June 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley hosted a Leaders Graduation Ceremony for the Youth Insearch Foundation.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley hosted an afternoon tea for the Asbestos and Dust Diseases Research Institute.  

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received representatives of Australians for Mental Health, including Mr Chris Gambien, Executive Director, and Mr Chris Raine, Campaign Director.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron and Mrs Hurley hosted a reception for the 2023 Cure Cancer Researcher of the Year.
