On Saturday 29 July 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Mary Jo Capps AM, Chair, attended Concert Conversations as part of the 2023 Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM) at the Ville Resort-Casino.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Capps, attended the AFCM’s Ray Golding Sunset Series – Rising Spirits at the Townsville Civic Theatre.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a dinner with the Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, and Professor Graeme Nimmo.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Capps, attended the AFCM’s Governor’s Gala Concert at the Townsville Civic Theatre.
