On Tuesday 15 August 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley attended the funeral service for General Sir Phillip Harvey Bennett AC KBE DSO at the Anzac Memorial Chapel of St Paul, Royal Military College, Duntroon.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General recorded video messages for Suicide Prevention Australia, Fire Protection Association Australia and Indonesia Independence Day.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recorded video messages for the Rugby World Cup and R U OK? Day.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from Gaulston College, Ingleside, New South Wales.
