On Monday 28 August 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Eric Easterbrook OAM, Chairman, attended the launch of National Legacy Week 2023.

Then, the Governor-General met with students from Guardian Angels Catholic Primary School, Ashmore City, Queensland.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, recorded a video message for the Children’s Medical Research Institute.

Later, the Governor-General met with students from Guardian Angels Catholic Primary School, Ashmore City, Queensland.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted the final Canberra leg of the Legacy Torch Relay and an afternoon reception for the Centenary of Legacy.
