On Sunday 22 October 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Dr Mark Schembri, attended the installation ceremony of the 21st Rector of St John’s College at the University of Sydney.
