On Thursday 26 October 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended breakfast with the Honourable Matt Keogh MP, Minister for Defence Personnel and Veterans’ Affairs.

Later, the Governor-General received Ms Penelope Grist OAM, Acting Director, Art Collections; and Dr Dianne Heriot, Head of Design Integrity and Collections, the Department of Parliamentary Services.

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Anna Chrisp, Head of Mission-designate for the Republic of Colombia.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General recorded video messages for Engineers Australia and Kokoda Day.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Honorary Fellow, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Katherine Woodthorpe AO, President, attended the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) 2023 Awards Gala Dinner.
