On Wednesday 13 December 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley recorded a video message for Christmas.  

In the evening, as Joint Patrons, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Tracey Corbin-Matchett OAM, Chief Executive Officer, Bus Stop Films, attended the Bus Stop Films 2023 Canberra Showcase.
