On Friday 19 January 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as guest of Mr Shane Phillips, Chief Executive Officer, attended a Tribal Warrior boxing session at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley received the Honourable Martin Hamilton-Smith, National Chairman, Australian Special Air Service Association, and Ms Stavroula Raptis.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Ms Rhondda Vanzella OAM, Chair, Australian War Widows Association, and Ms Kaz Page.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as Joint Patrons, hosted a reception for the Lions Australia Council of Governors.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
