On Saturday 3 February 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Angus Kirkwood, First Assistant Secretary, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, the Department of Home Affairs, attended a citizenship ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of Australian Citizenship Day, where the Governor-General, as Presiding Officer, led the citizenship pledge for 75 new Australian citizens.
