On Monday 18 March 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as Patron, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted a morning tea for the 2024 Simpson Prize Competition.  

Afterwards, the Governor General received a video call from Mr Shane Phillips, Chief Executive Officer, and Miss Lily Miles, Tribal Warrior Aboriginal Corporation.  

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Mr James Baxter PSM, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Australia to the World Trade Organisation.
