On Friday 5 April 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Lee McMaster, Acting Principal, visited and met with students and staff at Xavier Catholic College, Ballina. 

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Anne Meagher, Chair, and Councillor Elly Bird, Executive Director, visited and met with staff and volunteers of Resilient Lismore.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Andrew Gordon, Councillor, Lismore City Council, attended a lunch with members of the Tinny Army.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Naomi Moran, General Manager, visited and met with staff of the Koori Mail.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Kellie Brassington, Acting Director of Collections, visited and met with staff of Red Cross Lifeblood’s Lismore Collection Centre.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Ballina, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
