On Thursday 18 April 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Matthew Crumpton, Visitor Experience Manager, attended a tour of the Auckland War Memorial Museum. 

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Kat Doughty, Senior Impact Manager, Orange Sky, and Ms Helen Robinson, Chief Executive, Auckland City Mission, meet with staff, volunteers and clients of the Orange Sky Laundry and the Auckland City Mission. 

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Auckland, New Zealand, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a dinner for the friends of Scouts Australian Capital Territory. Guests included Dr John Baker and Mrs Elizabeth Baker; Mr Peter Barclay OAM and Mrs Dot Barclay; Ms Ezgi Bridger; Mrs Marita Corra and Mr Greg Corra; Mr Ross Greenup; Ms Eleanor Hewitt; Dr Miles Jakeman AM; Mr Brent Juratowitch; Mr Steve Lambert; Ms Jo Legge-Wilkinson; Mrs Sotiria Liangis AM; Mr John Liangis; Mr Gary Lui; Mr Richard Luton; Mr Omar Muscat; Mr Toby Phillips; Mr Paul Powderly; Mr Richard Rolfe AM and Mrs Debbie Rolfe AM; Mr Kamy Saeedi; Professor Paul Smith AM and Mrs Claire Smith; Mr Neville Tomkins OAM; Mr Brendan Watson OAM, and Mr Jon Willis OAM.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron and Chief Scout, and Mrs Hurley attended the closing ceremony of the 2024 Scouts Australia Camp at Government House.
