On Wednesday 17 April 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Colonel Roger Howard (Retd), attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Pukeahu National War Memorial.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Wellington to Auckland, New Zealand.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Michelle Impey, Chief Executive Officer, Save the Kiwi, visited and met with conservation staff and volunteers on Rotoroa Island.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro GNZM QSO, Governor-General of New Zealand, attended a reception at Government House, Auckland. 

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Dame Cindy Kiro, attended a dinner.
