On Wednesday 8 May 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as guest of Mr Shane Phillips, Chief Executive Officer, attended a Tribal Warrior boxing session at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.

Then, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted a breakfast for State Governors. Guests included Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC and Mr Dennis Wilson; Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC and Mr Rod Bunten; Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeanette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD; His Excellency the Honourable Christopher Dawson AC APM and Mrs Darrilyn Dawson; and Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardiner AC and Professor Glyn Davis AC. 

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received a phone call from Mr Kevin Hanns. 

Then, the Governor-General received Mr David Muir AM, Chair, Clem Jones Group.
