On Friday 17 May 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Major-General TNI Mohamad Hasan, Commander of the 37th Jakarta Military Regional Command, attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Kaibata Heroes Cemetery.    

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guests of His Excellency Ir H Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, attended a bi-lateral meeting and State Lunch.

Then the Governor-General received Mr Prabowo Subianto, President-elect of the Republic of Indonesia. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Tom Pearce, Minister-Consul and Consul-General, met with members of the Australian Embassy, Jakarta.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Her Excellency Ms Penny Williams PSM, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Australian Embassy Memorial Garden.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Jakarta, Indonesia, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
