On Monday 1 July 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC was sworn-in as the 28th Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.  

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC hosted a lunch at Government House. 

Then, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett received Aunty Caroline Hughes AM and Aunty Alana Harris. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General was represented at the state funeral of Mr Steele Hall, by Brigadier Tim Hanna, Honorary Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General.
