On Thursday 31 October 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, travelled from Sydney to Ballina, New South Wales. 

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Chris Mater, Chief Executive Officer, visited the Surfing Australia High Performance Centre. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as guest of Ms Shirley Patton, Administrator, visited Jarjum Centre Preschool. 

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Professor Tyrone Carlin, Vice-Chancellor, visited Southern Cross University. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Councillor Steve Krieg, Mayor, visited Converge Community Art and Creative Space and a Flood Recovery Presentation at Lismore Library. 

Later, the Governor-General, as guest of Councillor Steve Krieg, Mayor, received a town flood recovery tour, visiting the Municipal Building and Waste Facility and Water Treatment Plant. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, as guest of Councillor Steve Krieg, Mayor, attended a Civic Reception.
