On Tuesday 24 September 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Kim Ellis, Director, met with staff at the Australian Antarctic Division’s Headquarters in Kingston, Tasmania.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, travelled to Hobart, where as guests of Mr Kim Ellis, Director, visited the Ice Core facility at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies in Hobart.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, met with the Honourable Rebecca White MP, Leader of the Opposition in Tasmania, at Parliament House.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with the Honourable Will Hodgman MP, Premier of Tasmania.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with the Honourable Sue Hickey MP, Speaker of the Tasmanian Parliament.
