On Friday 27 September 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, visited the studios of Radio 1RPH and recorded readings of articles from ‘The Land’ newspaper at Gunghalin.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received Major General Roger Powell AM (Retd), Community Service Director, Rotary Club of Hall; and the following members of the GO Foundation; Mr Adam Goodes, Co-Founder and Ms Shirley Chowdhary, CEO, at Government House, Canberra.
Later, the Governor-General received Dr Joanne Loundes, Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq, for a mid-term call.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received His Excellency Dr Ajay Gondane, High Commissioner of the Republic of India, and Mrs Varsha Gondane, for a farewell call.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Acting Commissioner Karl Kent OAM, Australian Federal Police, attended the National Police Remembrance Day Service at the National Police Memorial, Kings Park.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Todd Greenberg, CEO, National Rugby League, attended the 2019 NRL Preliminary Final between the Canberra Raiders and South Sydney Rabbitohs.
