On Monday 31 March 2020, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), received a telephone call from Dr James Renwick CSC SC, Australia's Independent National Security Legislation Monitor.
Afterwards, the Governor-General - as Patron - received a telephone call from Mr Garry Rothwell, Chairman, and Mr Stephen Lewin, Chief Executive Officer, Youth Insearch, regarding the impact of COVID-19.
Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley also spoke with senior representatives of her patronages regarding the impact of COVID-19. This included telephone calls with Ms Elizabeth Robinson, Chief Executive Officer, The Infants' Home Child and Family Services; and Mr Rick Goode, Executive Director, Scouts Australia ACT Branch.
Then, the Governor-General - in his capacity as Honorary Colonel - received a phone call from Lieutenant Colonel Nick de Bont, Commanding Officer, Sydney University Regiment.
