On Tuesday 14 April 2020, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) spoke with senior representatives of his patronages regarding the impact of COVID-19. This included telephone calls with Mr Richard Potok, Chief Executive Officer, Aurora Education Foundation; and Mr Andrew Harrison, Vice-President, Cam's Cause.

The Governor-General, also received a telephone call from Mr Nev Power, Executive Chairman, National COVID-19 Coordination Commission.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a telephone call from Professor Brendan Murphy, the Australian Government's Chief Medical Officer.

Later, the Governor-General received a telephone call from Assistant Commissioner Jason Heffernan, Director Area Operations, North and West, NSW Rural Fire Service.
