On Tuesday 21 April 2020, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as Patron, recorded an Anzac Day address for Soldier On.

Afterwards, the Governor-General recorded a combined video message for Anzac Day with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy GNZM QSO, Governor-General of New Zealand.

Later, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as Patrons, recorded a video message for the United Nations Association of Australia.

Then, the Governor-General, as Patron, received a phone call from Mr Justin Williams, Founding Violist, Tinalley String Quartet.

To mark the occasion of her 94th birthday, the Governor-General also sent Her Majesty the Queen the following message:
Linda and I, with all Australians, extend to Your Majesty our best wishes and loyal and affectionate greetings for your birthday.

Earlier, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, participated in a virtual singing session with children from The Shepherd Centre.

Afterwards, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, recorded a video message for the OZY Youth Choir.

Later, Mrs Hurley spoke with senior representatives of his patronages regarding the impact of COVID-19. This included calls with Ms Trish Manten, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Guides Australia; and Ms Lydia Ashford, Operations Manager, Girls’ Brigade Australia.
