On Tuesday 28 April 2020, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) spoke with senior representatives of his patronages regarding the impact of COVID-19. This included telephone calls with Ms Joan Hughes, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust; Mr David Munro, President, Australian Council of Stoma Associations Incorporated; and Mr David Vaux, Chairman, LBW Trust.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, participated in an online boxing fitness class hosted by Canberra PCYC.

In the afternoon, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley spoke with senior representatives of her patronages regarding the impact of COVID-19. This included a teleconference with Ms Jan Kneeshaw, President, Sydney Opera House Ladies’ Committee; Ms Fiona May, Chief Executive Officer, Playgroup Australia; and Mr Owen Finegan, Chief Executive Officer, The Kids’ Cancer Project.
