On Wednesday 14 October 2020, at Government House, Canberra, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, participated in a Reserve Call Out activity with Major General Roger Noble DSC AM CSC, Head; and Wing Commander Josh Liddy, Legal Advisor, Military Strategic Commitments.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Chief Scout, recorded a video message for Scouts Australia's 2020 Jamboree of the Internet.
Later, the Governor-General recorded video messages for the National Memorial Service for Fire and Emergency Services; and for Year 12 Students ahead of the upcoming exam period.
Then, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, met with Calrossy Anglican School (NSW) via video conference.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a lunch for Ms Kate Logan, Former Chief of Protocol, and staff from Protocol Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Guests from DFAT included: Ms Fiona Holdsworth, Protocol Officer; Ms Sandra Magliulo, Protocol Officer; Mr Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol; Ms Pamela O’Grady, Deputy Chief of Protocol; and Mr William Paparo, Graduate Trainee.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Cheryl O'Donnell, Chief Executive Officer, launched Canberra PCYC's Youth Mobile Training Van.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted the launch of National Carers Week.
