On Thursday 23 May 2019 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, met with Mr Rob de Castella, Director, and the 2019 Indigenous Marathon Project squad.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Denmark WA RSL Youth Achievement Award winner.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Excellency Isaiya Kabira, Dean, African Diplomatic Corps, attended the 2019 Africa Day reception at the Hellenic Club, Canberra.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Urquhart Park Primary School, VIC; Wonga Park Primary School, VIC, and Canterbury College, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
